Deleted: Hawaii is back to pre-pandemic visitor numbers but the local hospitality industry has not totally recovered from the devastating lock-downs. Many of the most popular Big Island restaurants and activities will book up quickly as they may still operating on limited staffing & seating.

FULLY BOOKED ON 9/19 FOR ARRIVALS

Airport Shuttle – Big Island Transportation – book your transportation from Kona International Airport to the Hilton Waikoloa Village and back

This is the recommended shuttle service based on their superior service provided to the Hilton Waikoloa Village and their advance communications with the Cytokines/ILC4 meeting organizers. How to book in advance (reservations must be made in advance): CURRENTLY SOLD OUT ON SEPTEMBER 19TH.
  • Or call or send a text to –808-756-1144
  •  Or email: [email protected]
  • Pay your driver (amount will depend on how many are in the van, up to 6 passengers per van, costs $71 split between the riders), payments can be made by cash or credit card.

Whenever possible, we recommend that participants try to arrange to share shuttle reservations with other participants, communicate with each other so that they can be grouped together in the same shuttles.

Please include ICIS Group in the comments of your reservation. The cost per van for up to 6 people and luggage, is $71 each way (for up to 6 people), thus they hope to group ICIS participants together and if they notice same arrival information they will ask if you want to share as that will save our participants money and helps with their fleet planning.

Big Island Transportation will greet reserved participants at baggage claim and provide a bottle of water and a big welcome smile as well as carry your bags to their vans.

We recommend using OpenTable to research and book reservations in ADVANCE. Especially for the Kamuela Provision Co. (KPC) on Wednesday evening, which is at the Hilton Waikoloa Village near the Makai Tower. A few local restaurants are closed on Wednesdays in September, KPC is going to be open upon our request, reservations are strongly recommended.

What to pack, is there a dress code?

Pack for comfort and consider layering. As usual, “Academic Casual” will be the norm and this being Hawaii, you can certainly leave the suits and ties at home and we welcome Aloha Casual (slight variation to Academic Casual). High heals are not advised for the Ocean View Terrace Paniolo BBQ as the tables will be set up on the lawn. Please bring a sweater or jacket in case it cools down in the evening or if the air conditioning in the meeting rooms is too much. Comfortable shoes or sandals are definitely recommended due to the sheer size of the resort. There are canal boats and a tram, but you will probably want to get your steps in and enjoy the amazing Art Collection walking from one tower to another and exploring this 62 acre ocean front resort.
